+ Open Thread + Crystal cave entrance + Rainy, dreary, miserable weather | Today was not a usual day that Dawn would have chosen to trek through the low forest greens so early in the morning, not with heavy rain drops beating down through the trees and a grey sky she would have much preferred to have been cloudless. Already she was soaked to the bone and as a wolf made up of mostly fluff she knew she would remain that way for at least a few hours even out of the rain. Each of her small paws were licked with a decent layer of mud, and water was dripping from the crown of her head down her muddle, yet it wasn't until Dawn broke through the wide spaced trees and saw a few bright crystal glints that she allowed herself a break to shake herself firmly free of as much icy water as she could.
Hopefully her journey would prove itself worth while in the way she wanted it too. More then a few long months had passed, she had been counting subconsciously at first until it grew more concerned, since Vesper had whispered a single word to her. Certainly Dawn had still done her work and work her god would be proud of, settling disputes between wolves to maintain the peace, but it was now that the small wolf was beginning to question her value as a messenger. After all Vesper was well known for being in touch with his messengers. So why the sudden change with her? It wasn't as if Dawn could have asked other messengers of Vesper, it had been long since she had seen another even though they were more common among the gods pick, and there was really no one else she could go to with a problem such as this. The young wolf found herself in a somewhat stranded situation. So she had come to Crystal cave for its rumors on spirituality and not so much the lovely sight. A trip for the scenery could have waited until another, sunnier day.
After a quick glance to make sure no one was around, Dawn tenderly stepped into the wide cave opening. She felt no different, stepping inside what was supposed to be a very god-connected place made her feel no more connected, but she didn't let that leave her disappointed quite yet. Dawn gave herself a firm shake to scatter the rain in her fur, so rough she had to regain balance on her paws after but felt immensely better for now. Already she wasn't looking forward to the journey home.
No, now is not the time to think of that. Focus. You're trying to find Vesper now, calm your mind...
She looked around once more to make sure no one was lurking about, but felt more comfortable by now. If anyone had been around and noticed the little wolf she might look pretty odd in the next few minutes, seemingly talking to herself while she sent up a small prayer. "A place... to connect with the gods..." She said softly, swallowing hard as she took a seat with her back facing the rain and wind and entrance of the cave. Both her deep grey eyes closed lightly as she gave a long exhale. "Vesper, I... seek your guidance today. Many times you have whispered your wisdom with me, many things I have learned about acceptance and unity between all wolves and the importance of a peaceful heart when bringing others together. But now my heart is troubled and I fear I cannot preform the task you have sent me out into this world to do... Five full moons have passed since I have received a word from you and it leaves me... troubled. I seek to know you are still here with me Vesper, please... give me the strength through some sort of sign to continue what you have chosen me to do in this world."
With nothing more to say and her eyes still lightly closed, Dawn waited. She heard nothing but the rain and wind, felt nothing but cold and wet, still she waited for some sort of sign. A whisper. A message. Her god in front of her face as he had come once before, even if only for a few seconds. Anything that would keep her spirits high so the quieted messenger wouldn't have to doubt any more. With a naturally very patient heart and a lot of faith in this beautiful place, she might have ended up waiting the whole day.

Auralia looked up, the sky heavy with clouds. She sighed, hoping to find shelter before the storm began. She was glad for the slight protection the trees offered when she reached the forest, but as the rain started she knew it wouldn't be enough. Something called her on, the hope for a better shelter. She could smell another wolf, but the scent was still too far away to know which way they were headed. The rain would soon make that even harder. Stopping for a moment, the breathed in hard, mouth parted slightly. There! She moved quickly in the direction on the scent, growing stronger as she moved closer. It was female, and perhaps slightly familiar. Auralia couldn't be sure, there were many wolves she had seen pass through the Hallow that she had never really met. She winced as the ground became soft with the heavy downpour. She scent already receding into memory.
Auralia sneezed as dust from the rain tickled her nose, then returned to trying to find the scent again. She had to hurry, the storm seemed to be setting in, and wasn't likely to let up soon. She was already soaked through, her purple paws now an earthy brown. Her pale gray pelt, striped and matted with mud and other things she had picked up from the forest floor, twigs, leaves and the like. She shook her head, clearing the droplets from her eyes, just to have a stream of water come running off her crown. Shelter, that's all that mattered. She stopped again when the entrance to what seemed a large cave came into view. Cautiously, yet still in a hurry to get out of the rain, she moved toward the cave. As he reached the mouth, she could smell the other wolf again, this time stronger, and the tracks were still fresh.
Once the young female was out of the storm, she took another look around. Not seeing the other female, she took the time to shake out her pelt, throwing mud and debris as she did, but the water clung fast, smacking back against her slender frame. Giving up for the moment, she gave into her curiosity, and moved deeper into the caves. Soon a voice reached Auralia's ears. It was indeed female. Assuming this was the wolf she had been tracking to find this place, she moved slowly closer to the sound. Then stopped. Vesper? Was she also a messenger of the god of Unity? Now, even more eager to met this wolf, yet not wanting to interrupt a sacred prayer, Auralia waited. She was still between the door way and the wolf, or at least that was the door used to come here. Auralia had never been here before, but after getting a better look at the place, she mused if this could be the Crystal Caves she had been told about. With the wolf praying a little ways down, it seemed likely.
Auralia sat she waited. When the other wolf had quieted, the young Messenger had moved close enough to see her. There she waited, watching as the silent wolf remained unmoved. The stranger sat, back turned to Auralia, seemingly unaware of the other's presence. They both sat there silent, both waiting for...something neither was sure of. Auralia knew well the feeling of doubt and confusion. She had been chosen by not one, but two gods. When she made the decision to follow Vesper, she had assumed he would quickly send her on a mission. Instead she had waited six months, and those they spoke often, he had only spoken once about a mission. She had doubted the gods, doubted their decision to choose her. She doubted herself, doubting she had what it took to serve Vesper. Now it wasn't her, but this stranger who was full of doubt.
Perhaps I can help She said, musing to herself. She hadn't realized she had spoken the thoughts out loud.

+ Auralia + Crystal cave entrance + Rainy, dreary, miserable weather | Without a very good sense of passing time Dawn didn't have a clue how long she had been sitting there, on the damp cave bottom, in silence and wait before a voice appeared behind her. Her mind had been so deep into the prayer -a sweet tuneless song she had continued in her head after the words stopped leaving her lips- that it had been turned away from her surroundings. Auralia's words came as a shock that sliced the silence and made the little wolf jump a bit as her haze grey eyes flashed open. When she whirled around in a start her paws scratched almost painfully against the crystal surface ground, then stabled her so she was standing to face the newcomer with wide eyes and quite puffed up, wet fur. Even with this she seemed so small.
The first thing she noticed was the markings. It used to be the eyes, but through her god Dawn had trained herself to not see wolves for this color but rather for the pelts on their back and the heart they choose to show. Bright green Vesper markings like her own were easy to catch the eye, but at the bottom... Is that... Novas mark? No, that was impossible. Wasn't it? Two gods marking the same wolf was unheard of in her time in this world, so confusing that she had to force herself past it as to not linger and forget about the rest. One blue eye, one red. Another oddity, though easier to get past with her training. Dawn examined the wolf for only a few seconds -it did feel like more in her head- before settling down a bit from the start Auralia gave her with the fur on her hackles calming a bit and the surprise in her eyes fading.
The offer didn't seem something to worry about. She was beautiful and kind looking, and her voice kind enough to match, so Dawn found herself seated once more this time facing the newcomer with a strait posture and timid paws. "H-help?" She said in a small voice, soft as it always was and not unlike that she had just been praying with.
Of course, it clicked immediately then. This wolf had heard her praying to Vesper. Embarrassment settled in on her cheeks and in her eyes for a moment, her small paws shuffled in place as the petite wolf gave a little smile. But then again, this was also a messenger of Vesper. An opportunity to potentially find out of the god had spoken to anyone in a while -after all she had not come in contact with another messenger in... a very long time- or if he had just chosen to silence his tongue to Dawn for one reason or another. "I... um... I suppose you heard my little prayer. He has not spoken to me in quite a long time." She smiled kindly, softly, slowly. "But if you would like to help prey, I would be no wolf to try and stop you. Its appreciated in ...quiet times like these. I didn't know there was another messenger of Vesper in the area... and Nova as well." Her eyes sparkled with sweet curiosity, for more then just the double markings and odd eyes, but Dawn did not voice them in the timid soul she was. She wasn't a complete social butterfly when it came to strangers and in fact they made her quite nervous, but the spirit of the gods in this cave gave her some more strength then she would normally have.

Auralia looked up as the other wolf moved, but she remained seated. She could tell that the other was trying to understand what she saw. Auralia was a very...unique wolf, even without all the markings she was beautiful. Add the eyes, and marks of two gods, and she was unlike anything seen in this life. She had not heard of such a thing ever happening before, and was never told why it happened to her. Even the gods were silent on the matter.
"I'm Auralia, a fellow Messenger of Vesper." She said, her voice soft and kind. She knew now why she was here. Like the other times, she found herself helping another wolf in need. This was her calling, her mission. Each new and different, but in the end, each brought her and the wolves she helped closer to the gods and each other.
Auralia's eyes smiled slightly. It was often a point of confusion, and she guessed in a way they were right. 'I only serve Vesper now, though I have spoken with Nova in the past, I was required to choose one.' She said, after a moment, she shifted positions a little, not wanting to corner the other wolf, but wishing to move closer. 'I would be glad to help you speak with Vesper.' She added. Although her god had only send her on her current mission, they spoke often. Less now that she had left the Hallow, but still he was not completely silent.
As she studied this Messenger, Auralia thought she could see questions forming in the other's mind, but remained silent. The other was welcome to voice her questions, but Auralia had learned not to pry into a stranger's mind. She sought to reassure this brown female, but could tell by the way she held herself that she was still nervous. For that reason, among others, Auralia stayed still, keeping space between them. But she was sure to remain calm and inviting, her body language showing no threat or fear.
